Representation Matters: Black History, Black Love

“American history is replete with horrific episodes that prevented the accumulation of black wealth for centuries,” The Economist.  In this millennia, this decade; however, there has been a surge of black folk moving toward accumulating wealth, and not only for selves and generations to come after, but for quality of life.

'Twas the End of a Decade, and Lessons Were Learned

LESSONS ARE OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW

If we don’t take the time to be still and reflect on the lessons we’ve all learned this year, surely the lesson will repeat itself until we face it head on. Let’s not start a new year, a new decade even, with the same ole behaviors, same ole mind set, same ole toxic people who have been holding us back, same ole ideologies…the same ole shit that takes too much from us and doesn’t allow us to step into our greatness.

Energy Conservation

When animals hibernate during the cold dark winter months, they turn down their metabolisms to save energy. Their breathing and heart rates slow and they allow their body temperature to drop. Hibernation is an adaptation that helps animals conserve energy by remaining inactive.
