Touchdown! 4th Quarter
“In life, as in football, you won’t go far unless you know where the goalposts are.” ~ Arnold H. Glasow
Hello October!
We’re in the final stretch of 2019! We’ve worked hard, we’re exhausted. Finish strong; the way in which we end the year is an indication on how we will begin 2020.
Plan. Plot. Strategize.
In Q3 we reviewed, reflected and revised our goals. Goal reflection at the second half is an opportunity to review the past quarters. What was effective? Where do we need to focus? Are we on target from where we were at the top of the year to where we are in the final quarter?
Pivot and Prioritize.
Sometimes a switch in direction is necessary. The switch may have derived out of the goal reviewing, reflecting, and revising. What goals were met? What goals need to be extended? What goals are still being worked on? Prioritize accordingly. Goals should be aligned to where we are (present) and where we’re going (future).
Now is the time to make a plan so when 2020 arrives, the strategy is in place.
Rest and Re-energize.
With the holiday season approaching, the final quarter is also a time of festive festivities! A time to let our hair down and have some fun! Attend that holiday event and use it as a marketing opportunity—have your elevator pitch ready! Schedule some time off—actually put it in your calendar—and do something for yourself, by yourself. A weekend getaway solo. A hike in the crisp fall air, being one with nature. Something, anything, where we’re forced to be still. Stillness is an action and a very necessary reset tool.
Budgeting is ever so hard around the holiday season! Keep goals in mind so not to over spend. Be frugal in spending but not cheap.
Finish big; start strong. That’s the 4th quarter mantra!
Be great! The world needs more of that!
