Do Something Different

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” ~ James Clear, Atomic Habits
Goal setting isn’t enough. You must establish a system.
Life is to seasons as seasons are to quarters. There are times when our ideas/goals lie dormant (winter), when we begin to see progress (spring), when we bloom (summer), and when we fall (autumn); the ups, downs and standstills. We often think the ups and downs teach us the lessons. On the contrary. It’s in the standstill where the value lies, both in our personal and professional lives.
Season changes are proof that what lay dormant stay rooted until its time to blossom. The goals we establish for ourselves, the intentions (seeds) we set (plant) and the steps we take (progress) will soon too, sprout.
Make “herstory.”

It’s difficult to find balance when we’re pulled in so many directions and with so much thrown at us from all directions: phone calls, texts, emails, household, kids. I’m all too familiar with finding balance. Having single-handedly raised 3 children while working 2 full time jobs, taking evening classes toward my undergrad degree, being a soccer mom and chauffeur for extra curriculum activities. I slept very little and didn’t have much of a social life. Eventually I burned out, physically, mentally, spiritually.
I had the juggling act down to a science, but I wasn’t balanced.
