The Second Half
We’re 5 months into COVID quarantine, and although cities have implemented re-opening phases, business as usual isn’t going back to how it used to be. New precautions are being implemented. We all have to adapt and adjust. Who would’ve thought we’d be here?
July is the top of the 3rd quarter. Coming out of half time at the end of June, into the 2nd half of the year. Can you believe we’re already in the 3rd quarter of 2020?
Pause. Breathe. Begin Again.
How are you holding up mentally? Are you taking the time to take care of your mental health? How are you handling the discomfort of mandatory mask wearing, glove wearing, hand sanitizing, isolation, and working with less than normal business staff/capacity?
Have your goals been paused? Have you had to reevaluate your goals? Re-prioritize? I think we all have had to redefine our goals during this quarantine. We’ve all been affected personally and business-wise. Use this time for self reflection, identifying what’s important when re-shifting your goals.
This pandemic/quarantine can wear us all down. The isolation can be a lot for some. It’s important to try to stick to a routine as much as possible to combat the blahs. Take a break from the computer - actually step away from it (if you’re fortunate to work remotely during this pandemic); take a walk, take a nap, rest and relax, meditate, get an exercise regimen going if you haven’t had the time do start one. Paint, draw, journal. Revisit hobbies. Put the music on blast and dance around the house. Movement increases oxygen and blood circulation throughout the body and the brain.
Check on your friends and loved ones, a simple phone call can make someone’s day.
We are surrounded by uncertainty. We are uncomfortable with this new way of living; being, and it’s okay to feel uncertain and uncomfortable; however, we should sit in the discomfort of our current situation to shift into a new paradigm.
Shape Shifting.
Sit with your discomfort.
Growth happens in the discomfort.
Creativity happens in the discomfort.
Magic happens in the discomfort.
Learn to sit in it. And wait for the magic.
